1. I have always been interested in political science and world affairs, but never before as a candidate. I made Idaho my home because of its’ strong conservative base, but soon learned how liberal my elected Republican representatives voted. That’s when I decided to toss my hat in the ring.

2. I have 32 years of management and leadership experience in five different sectors of our economy — aerospace, military, construction, transportation and government. As a retired military officer and plant manager, with previous Idaho City Planning & Zoning administrator experience, I have the necessary skills and education to do this job.

3. Lack of high paying jobs, and government intrusion into our lives are the most significant issues facing our community. Jobs are not available for numerous reasons, not the least of which is government interference through burdensome regulations, taxes, and fees. Government intrusion and control hinders free enterprise.

4. As a legislator I will work to reduce taxes and regulations while improving transportation and communications infrastructure and all forms of education including. public, private, charter, vocational, technical and home schooling. Developing a good business environment with an understanding of business needs is what creates jobs.

5. I have no desire to create a legacy. I will promote honesty and integrity in all of my actions while voting my conscience in support of my constituents. I will do this without any ties, or commitments to any business, corporation, special interest group or PAC.

6. 1. Get foreign country laws out of our Idaho courts because it is unconstitutional. 2. Stop the state from competing with free enterprise because it is restricting growth. 3. Eliminate cronyism throughout the state government because this is corrupt.

7. 1. Repeal special session HB01, or create new legislation to hinder its’ application. 2. Convince other legislators to vote with me and force the state to stop this activity everywhere. 3. Pass legislation restricting gifting, limit appointments and salaries to commissions and eliminate the huge retirement benefits available through appointments.

8. When I commit to do a job, I commit 100 percent. Which means that this state senate position, though only in session three months of the year in Boise, requires a commitment to perform the job on an annual full-time basis.

9. I look forward to helping my constituents obtain a good, safe, and secure life in beautiful North Idaho. In doing so I will make myself available, as I have during my campaign, to meet with and/or talk with constituents at any time.

10. As with any community, there are many challenges. Being flexible, and always willing to listen to others is the first big step to resolving conflicts and issues. I enjoy learning from people I disagree with because we all have a sincere desire to improve Idaho.

11. My entire campaign has been ignored by the printed press with virtually no mention of any interaction at multiple forums, town hall meetings, etc. This is sad because the voter deserves to know this information in order to make an informed decision.

12. I am very pleased with how my campaign has been accepted. If there is harsh criticism, I’ll leave that to my opponent and the press to express. Regardless, I look forward to representing all district 1 constituents with a fair, honest an open approach to our mutual concerns.

13. I am not a “tea party candidate,” I am a conservative Republican candidate who will support the Idaho GOP platform to the best of my ability and do everything I can to ensure opportunity and protect freedom by applying a common sense approach to all government activities.

14. Question: Do you support the U.S. Constitution, the Constitution of the great state of Idaho and the GOP platform and pledge to never support a bill in conflict with any one of these documents?

Answer: My answer is “yes.”
