May 29, 1966 — BUILDING PERMITS

Four building permits have been issued during the past couple of weeks. Largest is a $36,000 addition to Connie’s diner at Fourth and Cedar.

Leonard Powell has a permit for a $17,000 residence at 510 south Ella. Val O’Donnell is building an addition to his home at 601 N. Fourth to cost $2,500 and Jack Parker is remodeling an office for his new used car lot at Fourth and Cedar to cost $2,000.

ELECTED STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT

Miss Carol Ames, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Ames of Dover, has been elected president of the Student Body for her senior year at Sacred Heart School of Nursing.

HULL’S BASS BEST IN IDAHO IN ‘65

One of Sandpoint’s better fishermen has gained national recognition by Sports Afield magazine for catching the largest largemouth bass in Idaho, in statewide competition during the past year. He is Larry R. Hull who lives on Florence.

Hull caught his prize-winning 8 lb. 1 oz. largemouth bass in Morton slough. He has been awarded a sterling silver honor pin, an honor emblem, and a “best in state” certificate plus a listing in Sports Afield magazine in recognition of his achievement.

May 29, 1916 — CLARKSFORK NEWS

Mr. Kulander, a patient at Saint Lukes hospital for some time, arrived home last week in a very weak condition, but is improved some.

We were treated to a snowstorm this morning.

John Lloyd is home from Montana and reports plenty of work of all kinds in that state and wages good. He is returning there in a few days.

NO TAXES FROM POWER PLANT

Investigation of the plan proposed at last week’s development league meeting to extend the city limits to include the plant of the Northern Idaho and Montana Power company for the purpose of taxation by the city discloses that taxes on that property are fixed by the state board of equalization and local authorities have no jurisdiction in the matter.

NYSTROM-HERMANSON

Olaf Nystrom, a well known man and popular resident of this city and Miss Hilda Hermanson of Spokane were united in marriage Wednesday afternoon at the Lutheran parsonage, the Rev. N.L. Otterstad officiating.
