As a result of recent fundraising efforts and generous public support, the First Presbyterian Church of Sandpoint and the Sandpoint Rotary Club have been able to contribute nearly $3,000 to Idaho Panhandle Habitat for Humanity. The funds are designated to build a safety fence near a drainage ditch close to Habitat homes in Kootenai.
Seeking pledges for portions of the fence raised parts of the funds. A dinner theater event put on in late February by the church was also successful in providing funds for the project. Rotary provided addition funds from their members to help move the project along.
Sandpoint Rotary Club contributed $500 and First Presbyterian Church provided $2,481 to the project. Volunteers from both groups are now busy building the fence.
