In response to Carol Jenkins’ letter (May 24, 2016, Daily Bee), she attempts to impugn my character with false claims. Her claims don’t match up with a record of the accounts on the show she references.

All comments were in direct response to the previous week’s show featuring Lewis Rich and my co-host.

No ethics issues occurred as all of the responses were to refute the false claims made the previous week by Mr. Rich. During that, Mr. Rich blamed a number of issues on previous sommissioners Mike Nielsen and Cornel Rasor that were false. Furthermore the phone lines were closed so the aggrieved parties had no ability to refute the false claims.

Bob left the show at the 12:30 p.m. mark in protest after I revealed that I was allowing Mr. Nielsen the opportunity to respond to the previous week’s false claims with the facts from the actual record. Mr. Nielsen did use the term “Lyin Lewie” at which point I, not Bob, asked him to refrain.

As far as “bravely debating,” the author apparently didn’t attend any of the five forums in the county.

It is clear Ms. Jenkins is trying to use the politics of personal destruction to falsely besmirch my integrity as she has done before. Those that know me know I’m not a bully, however, I am also not going to stand still when false claims are made against me, Ms. Jenkins.
