Contrary to a supporter’s arguments, Heather Scott has not been representing the interests of her constituents in Bonner and Boundary counties; she has been representing a radical, far-right segment of the GOP.

Her “standing for the First Amendment” when pictured with the Confederate flag, could be interpreted to be admiration for the Southern Confederacy and the institution of slavery. And her attempt “to protect Idaho sovereignty” prevented Idaho families from receiving child support payments, causing the calling of a special session of the Legislature, costing thousands of taxpayer dollars.

She favored the defeat of the recent school levy to repair our crumbling buildings, and yet, while in the state legislature, did nothing to provide funds from the Idaho Lottery to help with the repairs.

In contrast, Kate McAlister, Scott’s challenger, supports our public schools, and has worked to increase educational opportunities so our students can find good jobs when they finish school.,

As president of the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, Kate has helped our businesses grow and worked diligently to bring new business to our communities and increase tourism. The respected Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry has endorsed Kate because “Scott has one of the worst voting records in supporting commerce.”

Kate will represent all of our citizens, representing both political parties in our district. Vote for Kate, on Nov. 8.
