On Oct. 5, the Morning Show on KRFY 88.5 FM dedicated its entire program to the candidates for Bonner County Sheriff. This opportunity was intended to provide citizens with information about the candidates’ experience and plans for the next four years in the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Wheeler was a no show. Terry Ford eagerly embraced the chance to reach out to voters, presenting his goals and answering questions. Where’s Wheeler?

Over the last several weeks, Terry Ford has taken his campaign countywide, hosting “meet and greet” events in Hope, Clark Fork, Sandpoint, Sagle, Priest River, and Coolin. He has gathered information and listened to residents’ stories of uninvestigated property crimes, drug trafficking, lack of patrol presence, and minimal outreach to our communities including our youth. Where has Wheeler been?

And then there is the steady stream of Bonner County residents who turn into Terry’s own driveway, asking for help. Drugs in their neighborhoods, uninvestigated property crimes, absence of deputies on patrol in their communities, and the list goes on.

Where’s Wheeler? The citizens of Bonner County deserve a sheriff who will do the work. This incumbent is not entitled to another four years in office. Terry Ford has shown that he will engage the law enforcement challenges facing our county.

Vote for Terry Ford on Nov. 8. Fill in the box and write, “Terry Ford” on the line. You do have a far better choice.
