Scott will defend our liberties and freedom

| November 4, 2016 1:00 AM

I support Heather Scott, and her bid for re-election as state representative, District 1A. Rep. Scott has proven to have excellent judgement when it comes to tax issues, governance and the protection of our liberties and freedom as American citizens.

I believe this, especially today, and going forward as Heather Scott’s association with the Coalition of Western States identifies unwavering advocacy for western ranchers, as well as all of our property rights. Rep. Scott’s stand, criticized by Hillary’s surrogate — Kate, proved to be wise as the Malheur Wildlife Refuge protesters were found not guilty by a jury of our peers in federal court. Through this reasonable and just verdict, we the people, not the “establishment,” have been vindicated.

Scott supported the empowerment of the people who fought against the $55M LPOSD levy, her challenger signed her name in support of the levy which was rooted in fraudulent assessment, which was soundly defeated.

Rep. Scott was instrumental in forming consensus within the Idaho Legislature to pass a signature concealed carry weapons law.

Rep. Scott identified these outcomes from the beginning. On the other hand, her opponent’s behavior and hidden agenda are irresponsible. Her statements against Heather Scott are not well researched. In fact, these claims are not even well-rehearsed.

I question Kate McAlister’s competency to represent us based on McAlister’s similarity of Hillary Clinton philosophy on the issues and Clinton’s style of governance and the common source of campaign funding, ultimately to John Podesta, an integral confidant of Hillary Clinton.

While Heather leads on important issues of the time, Kate’s retrospective and unstudied approach fails to even follow a logical course (progressive Democrat). And she further contends “extremism” on the part of Rep. Scott. But from what I can determine, Ms. McAlister is not standing on solid ground, and her conclusions, if any, cannot be trusted.

Finally, Heather Scott is good for business as evidenced by National Federation of Independent Business endorsement and Quest’s sunshine tax status vote. The claims cited in the recent special interest mailer, received throughout District 1, are unsubstantiated, irresponsible and politically motivated.

I encourage you to please cast your vote for Heather’s re-election on Tuesday, Nov. 8, as I’m confident that Ms. Scott will continue to defend our liberties and freedom. We hope to see you at the polls.
