PSNI wood raffle drawing date set

| November 5, 2016 1:00 AM

Warm up your winter with a couple cords of wood by entering to win Panhandle Special Needs, Inc.’s raffle. Tickets are available at The Cottage, 1410 N. Boyer Ave., and all proceeds benefit PSNI projects. The cost is $5 each or three for $10. This premium 16-inch cut/split red fir will keep you cozy and toasty.

“This is beautiful wood,” Lois Miller, PSNI board member said. “It’s nice and dry and will make someone very happy. We were going to have the drawing earlier in the month but have extended it to Wednesday, Nov. 30 so we could get the word out and get better participation.”

Miller explained that the wood was donated by Cloudsledge Conservation Trust. For those of you unfamiliar with this organization their website states, “The sole purposes of this trust are to preserve in perpetuity the Cloudsledge forests and premises by silviculture …”

Silviculture is described by Wikipedia as the practice of controlling the establishment, growth, composition, health, and quality of forests to meet diverse needs and values. So, rest assured this wood was responsibly harvested by concerned environmentalists.

PSNI provides specialized training to adults with disabilities. This training offers these individuals the opportunity to live independently and to give back to the community. You can help these men and women continue to provide services to businesses in Bonner County by buying a raffle ticket or three or 12. Stop by the Cottage today or call 263-7022 for more information.
