CLARK FORK — Clark Fork sophomore setter Brooke Stevens was the lone Wampus Cat to earn a spot on the All-North Star League volleyball team, as voted on recently by the league’s coaches.

Stevens finished the season with 517 assists, 51 kills and 31 aces, running the Wampus Cats’ 6-1 offense with great skill and precision.

The three-sport standout earned a spot on the team for the second year in a row, working hard over the summer by attending a couple of camps and traveling to Spokane a handful of times to participate in group setting sessions, which paid off.

“She gained a lot of knowledge during this time and came into the season ready to be the quarterback of the team. As the season progressed, Brooke started using her go-to hitters more which scored more points,” said Cats head coach Cindy Derr. “Towards the end of the season, we were able to utilizer her hitting more. She became a more solid server as the year progresses also. I look forward to her leading the team the next two years as well.”

Despite going 7-3 in league play, the Cats only had one player earn all league honors, while Kootenai had five make the team and everyone else more than one.
