SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce welcomed Wags K-9 Kampground with a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the boarding facility’s grand opening Oct. 27.

Wags K-9 Kampground is a small boarding facility for dogs located in the Selle Valley, just off Colburn Culver Road.

“It’s a place to bring your dog when you can’t take them with you where they will get one-on-one personal attention and playtime with other dogs, trail hikes and even a splash pool in warmer weather,” said owner Mikey Haven.

Mikey and her husband moved to North Idaho in 2005 from Southern California, where Mikey had years of experience in dog training, dog psychology, and a search and rescue dog team. Wags even posts pictures of pets on their Facebook page so clients can check in on them while they’re out of town. Their boarding rate is $22 a night, and pickup and drop-off times are 8 a.m.-10 a.m. or 4 p.m.-6 p.m. unless otherwise arranged.

“Anyone who wants their dog to have fun getting socialized with love and patience and made to feel at home, needs to come and visit Wags,” Mikey said.

Wags K-9 Kampground is hosting an open house Wednesday, Nov. 9, from noon to 2 p.m., with a tour of the facility as well as snacks and refreshments.

Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce officials invite the community to join them in congratulating Wags K-9 Kampground on the opening of its new facility. Wags K-9 Kampground is located at 396 Gold Creek Road, just off Colburn Culver Road.
