Sharon Bolstad, 63

| November 17, 2016 12:00 AM

Sharon Ruth Bolstad passed away in October in her home in Albuquerque, N.M.

Sharon was born to Ruth and Norman Bolstad in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Aug. 20, 1953. She attended local schools, graduating from Sandpoint High School as the valedictorian of the class of 1971.

After high school, Sharon went to Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash., and then began a career in business. That career took her first to Minneapolis, then to Colorado, where she began an affiliation with the aerospace industry. She lived in Colorado Springs, Denver, Phoenix, and Albuquerque working for Martin Marietta, Ford Aerospace and Honeywell. When she retired, she was working as a contract manager for the division of Honeywell that builds Gulfstream jets. She was highly respected by coworkers and customers alike.

Sharon was an avid reader, loved animals and karaoke and was a generous supporter of live theater and local animal parks.

She is survived by a brother, Jay, of Sandpoint; and cousins and friends.

Per her request, her ashes were privately scattered in Albuquerque, her much-loved, adopted home. No other services are planned.
