Talk explores technology, relationships

| November 18, 2016 12:00 AM

The consequences of living online will be explored at Lifetree Café at noon Monday, November 21.

The program — titled “Living Online: Provocative Thoughts From the Author of ‘Is Google Making Us Stupid?’” — features a filmed interview with Nick Carr, a 2011 Pulitzer finalist who frequently writes about technology

“This is a very strange moment in history,” Carr says. “People are socializing, looking at media, and being distracted from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed. I don’t think we fully know yet what the consequences of this shift will be.”

During the program, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the positive and negative impacts technology has had in their own lives and relationships.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café is located at Kokanee Coffee, 509 N. Fifth, Sandpoint.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Angela Reese at 208-597-7831.
