Sandpoint resident Matthew J. Mire, vice president at Mountain West Bank, a civision of Glacier Bank, graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School on Friday, Sept. 2. This year’s graduating class consisted of 224 executives representing 26 states, American territories and other countries. These students attended courses encompassing risk management, financial performance, and leadership to gain an executive-level understanding of the business of banking.

Mire, who was raised in Sandpoint, was named to the Honor Roll, an exclusive group made up of the top 10 percent of the class. He graduated Sandpoint High School in 2001 and moved back in 2005 after graduating Eastern Washington University.

For 78 years, the prestigious Pacific Coast Banking School has partnered with the University of Washington Graduate School of Business to provide this three-year graduate-level program to over 10,000 members of the financial services community. Graduates attended a two-week resident session each August on the University of Washington campus, as well as completed seven rigorous inter-session written assignments, including an original management thesis.
