Now that the elections are over, and the focus is off our choice of candidate, let’s focus on ourselves.

I suggest a close look at a return to civility and kindness in our speech and actions. There has been a downhill slide in this area and we can move it back in the right direction.

For our speech, how about considering three things before speaking or responding to something? First, is it the truth? Second, does it need to be said? Third, is it for building up or tearing down?

For our actions, how about a return to kindness? “Random acts of kindness” was a big hit; how about practicing kindness on a daily basis to the people we come into contact with? It will transform your day and that of the people you interact with.

Have a great day.
