Cecilia Dignan, of the Strikers Development Program, and Ryan Clary, of the 2002-03 Higgs team, have been named the Hound Pizza October Strikers Players of the Month.

“Cecillia is one of the brightest talents coming up in our 2008-09 girls Sandpoint Development Program. Her smile and energy for the game is inspiring,” said Strikers director of coaching Rick Mullins. “Every time I watch her play, I say to myself ‘that girl loves soccer.’ She is a great kid and we are truly lucky to have her in our program.”

Mullins had equally high praise for Clary, calling his a true example of perseverance after recent changes mandated by U.S. Soccer that changed the dynamics of many teams.

“Because of these changes there are several differences in the size and maturity of players. Although Ryan is currently one of the smallest players on the team, there is one thing for sure, he has a heart of a lion,” described Mullins. “He plays with passion and drive. Best of all, he is a good teammate, which brings out the best in his fellow players. So happy he’s part of our club and I look forward to seeing him continue to develop in the future.”
