This year, Jeanne Warwick, sixth-grade teacher at Washington Elementary, held an essay contest for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders on what Veteran’s Day meant to them. One winner was chosen from each grade. The winners were honored at the Veteran’s Day assembly and each winner read their essay during the assembly.
