Terri Sue (Chamberlain) McPherson
On Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, a beautiful soul passed on. Terri Sue (Chamberlain) McPherson lost her valent battle to cancer.
Her parents, Marge and Gene Chamberlain, raised a fun-loving, adventurous young lady who grew into a special person to all who knew her. She grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho, and attended school here. She also earned two associate of arts degrees, one in bookkeeping from Kinman University and also her fashion merchandising degree from Spokane Falls Community College. Terri worked in the fashion and retail business for years, which worked well with her love for shoes and clothes. She was always well dressed and knew how to look good. To the very end, she had a close group of school friends who stayed close much of their lives.
All who enjoyed a meal prepared by her can testify to her cooking skills. She was always trying new recipes and had a real knack at getting them to come out right. She always enjoyed having people over so she could cook for them.
She loved to travel and was able to complete a number of travels, fulfilling items in her bucket list, which was an actual bucket filled with places and things she wanted to do. Her favorite type of vacation was cruising. Over the years she went on over 30 cruises to places wide and far. Once one was over, she was looking for a new itinerary to take her some place new and exciting. Traveling with different groups of friends, over the years, enhanced these trips.
During the past few years she was able to see most of the western United States, traveling in a fifth-wheel RV. She also enjoyed boating on the North Idaho lakes, usually boat camping for a week or more on the chosen lake.
She was an excellent mother and raised two children, Shane (Laura) McPherson and Koby (Gavin) Leach, both of Spokane. The loves of her life were three grandsons, Nolan, Braiden, and Ryder; Koby and Gavin’s sons. Their Gammy treasured her time with them and had them stay with her frequently. It was always a treat to come to “Gammy’s House.”
Terri always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed experiencing all it had to offer her. Knowing her added to each individual she touched in life, they came away with some of her zest for life.
She is survived by her husband, of 43 years, Bob McPherson; her son and her daughter; three grandsons; and a sister Kristy.
A celebration of Terri’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sandpoint Elks Lodge.
