SANDPOINT — The Top Dog Wrestling Club took 10 competitors to the Bigfoot Wrestling Tournament in Spokane last Saturday, and they more than held their own as 145 teams from around the region competed in a tournament that was capped at a whopping 1,000 youth wrestlers.

With the North Idaho Wrestling League wrapping up recently, the meet marked an extra chance to get some wrestling in, and also a chance to compete against new opponents from around the Northwest.

Joe Neff led the way after winning True Beginner bracket of the Bantam weight, notching the lone title for the Top Dogs on the day. He pinned opponents from Lakeland, Bonners Ferry and Prosser en route to the title.

Jacob Neff finished second in the Fly (4-5 year-old) bracket, Grace Balch finished third in the Novice bracket, Christian Troumbley finished fourth in the Novice 120 pound bracket and Jorden Tyler was fifth in the Intermediate 80 pound bracket, rounding out the podium finishers for the Top Dogs.

Also competing and helping score points were Tyler Wood, Zak Wood, Lincoln Balch, Calvin Hinds and Darrian Resso.
