Rise of atheism explored at Lifetree Café

| November 25, 2016 12:00 AM

The impact of atheism in America will be discussed at Lifetree Café at noon Monday, Nov. 28.

This Lifetree program, “Giving Up on God,” features a filmed interview with a former Christian who has embraced atheism. It also includes the story of a former atheist professor, Holly Ordway, who became a Christian. She’s the author of “Not God’s Type.”

“National surveys indicate a rise in atheism,” said Lifetree representative Craig Cable. “Many attribute this to the popularity of the so-called new atheists. We’ll look at the trends and invite the public’s input on what’s happening.”

Cable said everyone, regardless of faith affiliation or non-affiliation, is welcome to participate in this public forum.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available. Lifetree Café is located at Kokanee Coffee, 509 N. Fifth Ave., Sandpoint.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversations about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Angela Reese at 208-597-7831.
