Congratulations to Steve Brixen and R. Bruce Johnson for the opportunity to trumpet the win of their presidential candidate.

Brixen says, “I wanted no more Clintons (Democrat) and no more Bushes (Republican) in the White House. Hmmmm … Johnson calls those who didn’t vote for President-elect Donald Trump “losers and cry-babies because they didn’t get their ‘way’.”

I have never been overtly public about my political views, but am now coming out as identifying more with the Democrat/independent point of view. (OMG. In North Idaho, that’s almost as bad as admitting you’re from California.)

Some cold, hard facts: As of Nov. 20, 2016, Hillary Clinton leads your candidate in popular votes by more than 1.5 million ballots. During the debates, fact-checkers revealed that your Republican candidate misrepresented the facts over 75 percent of the time. Mrs. Clinton’s percentage was only 27 percent.

Yes, the American people want change. But let’s do it in a civil, cooperative manner and agree to disagree. Not with a “Ha, ha, in your face, we won” bully attitude.

Obviously, I disagree with your presidential pick. I hope the confidence you place in your candidate proves to be correct. For the sake of our country, and the future of our children and grandchildren, I sincerely hope this is not the presidency we come to rue. As many Americans, I’m frightened as hell and will not delight in saying, “I told you so.”

For the church-going, Christian woman who voted for Trump, I only have one word, “Really?”
