—Photo by CAROLINE LOBSINGER Selkirk Fire Rescue & EMS crews responded to the Edgewater Resort about 4:30 p.m. Saturday after multiple reports of smoke at the Sandpoint hotel. The fire was traced to oily rags left in a maintenance area near the pool. While the structure itself wasn’t damaged, batallion chief Jason Cordle said the fire caused heavy smoke damage on the first, second and third floors of the hotel. The roughly 60 guests of the hotel were relocated to other hotels in the area.
