It has been stated on a local radio show that McAlister would be “Hillary of North Idaho.” Comparing Kate’s answers in the May 12, 2016, Reader, to Hillary Clinton positions, one has to admit the pant suit fits. Hillary and Kate agree on the issues of: gun rights —a concealed right to carry is a bad idea; health care — is a right; Medicaid tax — federal expansion must exist in Idaho; leadership — believe in “progressive (ultra left wing) common sense” ideology; and jobs — working poor need government intervention, increased minimum wage (employers?).

District 1 voters surely understand that McAlister, a Democrat, openly embraces nearly every tax and taxing entity (BID) available in our district. McAlister proudly committed her name to the “Titanic” $55 million Lake Pend Oreille School District tax levy Daily Bee advertisement.

Hillary of North Idaho may desire to operate under the ideological radar, but electors are not hood-winked. Vote Heather Scott for North Idaho values and an unrepentant push back against the Boise “establishment.”
