An open letter to all voters:

We have a clearly defined choice for House of Representatives, District 1A.

The incumbent, Heather Scott, is ultraconservative, and supported by members of the growing “American Redoubt” movement (see The Economist, Aug. 6, 2016).

Her challenger is Kate McAllister, president and CEO of the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce. In that role, she has worked tirelessly to recruit new businesses to the area, shore up tourism, and build educational opportunities locally so students can find good jobs upon graduation (e.g., NIC aerospace program). She believes in bringing industry and education together to build a stronger economy for Idaho. Kate would bring relevant skills to her work as a legislator: she is an excellent listener, respects all points of view, and is a consensus-builder. She would represent the wide spectrum of beliefs in N. Idaho. Please join me in voting for Kate!
