Get involved on God's pit crew
If you are familiar with auto racing, a common phrase you will hear is “the race is won or lost in the pits.”
Pit crews have a huge responsibility during the race to be complete, thorough, and efficient without sacrificing quality. If you have ever watched a pit crew up close, the team operates like a machine. Every person has specific role. There are no watchers; only participants. Each person shows up and steps in with amazing aspiration for the goal.
Can you imagine a lethargic pit crew? How much impact would they have on the race? None. The race would be filled with chaos, wasted time, and wasted resources.
This is the same with the Kingdom of God. There are countless opportunities to get involved. God has given each of us talents, dreams, desires, hobbies; all designed for the awesome purpose of reflecting God’s love to people around us. Our responsibility is to be ready and willing to participate. When we see the opportunity arise, we step in.
Check out the scripture 1 Corinthians 14:26: “… some people sing, some teach, some tell a story, some provide insight, some encourage …”
This is true “church,” everyone coming together, inspired by God for the common good.
Here’s the real kicker … God wants you! Just like a pit crew team member, you have something special to offer. God has designed you, unlike anyone else in the world. He has a plan for you to be a part of something much bigger; something world changing. The race will be won because of you. Resist sitting on the sidelines; resist benchwarming.
Get on the pit crew and be the change our world needs.
