Intro to bike maintenance class offered next month

| October 28, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Have you ever wanted to learn how to repair and tune-up your own bicycle? Sandpoint Parks and Rec has partnered with Sports Plus to bring you an Introduction to Bike Maintenance course on Thursday, Nov. 17.

A bicycle provides transportation and exercise. A bicycle itself consists of numerous levers, bearings, pivots and parts that require proper care and maintenance. Without a basic understanding, these parts and how they all work together can be intimidating. This introductory class will teach you how to keep those parts running and operating like they were brand new.

The Fall Session begins Thursday Nov. 17 at Sports Plus (315 S. Ella) from 6–8:30 p.m. and includes tips and rules for prepping and storing your bike for winter.

Class space is limited to the first eight to sign up, so pre-register by Nov. 4 at Sandpoint Parks and Rec (1123 Lake St.) to ensure your spot in the class. The class fee is $22, with a $2 discount for participant s residing inside Sandpoint city limits.
