Read your Bible; change your life
One night, in January 2013, I devoted my life fully to Christ. I had lived all my life in a broken relationship with Him. That night, at my lowest point, I cried out to Him, “Help me! I need you! I can’t do this without you!” That is when I heard His still, small voice say, “Read your Bible.”
That moment changed my eternity. I started to read God’s Word and the Word began to change my life.
Over the course of the next six months, He removed all the sin and struggles that I had been fighting with. I quit smoking pot, partying, and chasing girls (well, inappropriately at least). The biggest chain God broke for me was pornography. Three years later, none of those sins have any place in my life because I have filled myself with God’s Word and continue to every day.
Today if you have a struggle in your life and you have sins that you cannot break free from, I highly encourage you — read your Bible every day.
When you remove something from your life, it creates a gap. You will always fill that gap with something. I encourage you to fill it with God’s living Word. It seems like too simple a solution, but it doesn’t actually work unless you live out what you read.
To make reading your Bible easier, you can download a free Bible app, do devotionals, or find a Bible reading program.
If you want to gain wisdom, Proverbs has 31 chapters; read a proverb every day and you’ll read through it each month.
I’m living proof that if you make reading your Bible a priority, your life will change.
