Lew Waggoner, 83

| September 1, 2016 1:00 AM

Lew Waggoner, 83 years young, left this world on Aug. 23, 2016, to begin his final quest.

He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 54 years; his daughters, Frederica, Rona, and Jill; as well as many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by his family and treasured friends.

I have come to the end of my journey,

And traveled my last weary mile.

Just forget, if you can, that I ever frowned,

And remember only the smile.

Forget unkind words I have spoken,

Remember some good I have done.

Forget that I ever had heartache,

And remember I’ve had loads of fun.

Forget I have stumbled and blundered,

And sometimes fell by the way.

Re- member I have fought some hard battles and won,

At the end of this long day.

Then forget to grieve for my going,

I would not have you sad for a day.

In summer just gather some flowers,

And remember the place I now lay.

In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, friend, or walk in the woods for a moment, an hour, a day.

Time waits for no one.
