Shaha scores twice to lead Bulldogs past Hawks

RATHDRUM — Casey Shaha scored a pair first half goals, and Riley Walkington added a third, as the Bulldogs opened league play with a convincing 3-1 win over Lakeland in 4A Inland Empire League girls soccer Tuesday in Rathdrum.

“We started well, focused and composed, which is not always the case. We’re always wary of Lakeland’s intensity, we wanted to match that by staying composed,” said Bulldogs head coach Conor Baranski. “Casey is definitely stepping up. It was a full team effort. Feels good to get the league off that way.”

Sandpoint hosts Central Valley on Thursday.
