COEUR d’ALENE — Reilley Chapman, a sophomore making her debut as starting libero, had 25 digs as the host Lake City Timberwolves beat the Sandpoint Bulldogs 25-22, 25-18, 25-14 in nonleague play Tuesday night at Lake City High School.

Ashley Kaufman had 12 kills, 17 digs and four aces for Lake City (10-1). Klaire Mitchell had 17 assists, 16 digs, four kills and two aces, and Arlaina Stephenson had 10 kills.

Laney Search posted a triple double with 10 kills, 22 assists and 13 digs for Sandpoint (5-4). Grace Hicks, Grace Kirscher and Kayla Newmann had six kills each. Kaitlan Ward had 15 digs, and Neumann added 14 to anchor the back row in defeat.

“Had some really great moments, but our inconsistency cost us,” Sandpoint coach Erin Roos said. “Lake City is a fantastic team with an impressive setter and libero. They really made it difficult for our attackers to earn kills. We made some impressive comebacks from really large deficits, which showed a lot of grit, but we waited too long to decide to compete.”
