Kristopher 'Kris' Jon Hertel

On Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, Kristopher “Kris” Jon Hertel of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash.

Kris brought joy to everyone he met. He had a beautiful infectious smile, bright blue eyes and a heart of gold. He was an excellent student and athlete who enjoyed music, movies and shows, soccer, animals especially his dog, Lola; and being with his friends.

Kris is survived by his mom, Karen Hanson Hertel; his dad, Keith Hertel; a brother, Kyle Hertel; his stepmother, Brenda Parnell; a stepbrother, Patrick Pozzi; his grandparents, a great-grandmother, Mildred; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins from Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Wisconsin, California, Minnesota, Arizona, Wyoming, Nebraska and South Dakota.

A celebration of Kris’ life will be at Sandpoint City Beach on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 4-7 p.m. For a comfortable place to sit please bring a blanket or chair. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through www.gofundme.com/krishertel supporting the listed charities.
