Media bias questioned at Lifetree Café

| September 9, 2016 1:00 AM

Bias in the news media will be explored at Lifetree Café at noon Monday, Sept. 12.

The program — titled “Bias: What’s the Media’s Agenda?”— features filmed interviews with three current and former news journalists discussing the current state of bias in the media.

“I would say this is the most unprofessional period of American journalism I can recall in the last 30 years,” says David Aikman, a former correspondent for Time. “It’s just been extraordinarily unquestioning and dismissive of opposition viewpoints”

During the program, participants will have an opportunity to discuss what level of tilt they see in the news media.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café is located at Kokanee Coffee, 509 N. Fifth, Sandpoint.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Angela Reese at 208-597-7831.
