Sept. 11, 1966 — HIGH SCHOOL NEWS
After a summer-long search, Bonner county school officials finally found a foreign language teacher for the Senior High School and came up with an athletic bonus in the bargain.
Steve Buratto is a 1966 graduate of the University of Idaho where he was first-string center on the Vandal’s team for two years. He became available when he was released from the Green Bay Packers camp last week. In addition to his classroom duties, Buratto will, of course, assist head football coach Francis McDonnell.
The new coach was an all-conference center at Clarkston High School and then received the same honor at Columbia Basin junior college and finally was all-Big Sky center at Idaho.

Sept. 11, 1916 — CZAR PICKS SON
Heir to the Russian throne, twelve-year-old Grand Duke Alexis, has received from his father, the czar, the appointment of honorary head of the corps of naval cadets. His photograph in the uniform of the imperial navy is being displayed conspicuously in the shop windows of Petrograd, Moscow, Odessa and Kleff. It is a strikingly handsome figure, the face full of intelligence and charm, appealing to the imagination of the people and reminding them of the ancient but ever new policy of the autocrat of all the Russians that the empire must become a great maritime power.

PINE STREET SOON FINISHED
Asphalting was commenced on Pine street Wednesday, and as something like a block a day can be laid, it will not be long before the street will be completed and ready for traffic, and will be one more indication of the city’s progress.
