Mulder's 10th goal leads Bulldogs to 1-1 draw

MOSCOW — Dawson Mulder took a nice through ball from Amos Crossingham and scored his 10th goal of the season in the first half, as the Bulldogs drew Moscow 1-1 on Tuesday in 4A Inland Empire League boys soccer action in Moscow.

The Bears would score the equalizer off a set piece header in the 50th minute, and the Bulldogs (4-2-2, 1-0-1 4A IEL) were unable to pick up a big road win in their quest to host the district championship.

Sandpoint head coach Adam Tajan felt his team played pretty well in the first half, but lost their edge in the second.

“We generated more chances and more offense, then kind of got a little complacent in the second half and just didn’t finish the game off,” said Tajan, who feels his team can do better defensively. “Be more organized on set pieces; we’re going to have to in the second half of the season. We’re still hoping to earn the top seed and host the championship game in Sandpoint.”

The Bulldogs are at Coeur d’Alene on Friday.
