Shopko work is on track
OLDTOWN — City planner Bryan Quayle reported to city council Monday that Shopko continues moving forward as planned.
The parking lot is paved and striped, and utilities are ready to be turned on, he said. When Shopko will complete improvements to streets that it is supposed to do is unknown, he said.
“I’m starting to get a little bit concerned that they do finish that work so we don’t go through the winter without it unfinished.” The Idaho Transportation Department may intervene to ensure that the work gets done, he mentioned.
The council unanimously renewed the city’s contract with the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office. The contract did not change the previous arrangement. Mayor Lonnie Orr did point out that the city has been getting some revenue from law enforcement thanks to fines.
The store, which is located at 67 Selkirk Way, is expected to open this fall and will become a staple in the community as a “one stop shop” for all essentials.
Shopko Hometown combines Shopko’s strong reputation for customer service with a broad and dynamic offering of national brands and private label brands at a great value.
