SARS readies for ski swap

SANDPOINT — Kick off the ski season and find great deals on snow gear — from skis and snowboards to a huge variety of winter recreational equipment and clothing at Schweitzer Alpine Racing School’s annual ski swap on Nov. 12.

The sale, which runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Bonner County Fairgrounds, features thousands of new and used equipment and clothing at discount prices. Highly organized with several professionals on hand for buying assistance. It’s a chance to outfit the entire family with skis, snowboards, boots, poles, bindings, helmets, hats, goggles, gloves, jackets, pants, socks, and more.

Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family. There is no charge for parking.

Looking to sell old gear that you are no longer using? Bring your extra or outgrown equipment and clothing on Nov. 11 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Individuals can pick up their checks for items sold and/or unsold items on Nov. 12 from 5-7 p.m. Any items not picked up during that time will be donated to SARS or North Idaho Mountain Sports Education Fund.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort will be returning to the SARS Ski Swap. Come on by to pick up your pass. If you haven’t purchased your 2016/17 Winter Season Pass yet, be sure to get it before the Oct. 31 deadline.

The annual event benefits the SARS’ ski racing and free-ride programs for more than 150 local and regional athletes ages 5 and up.
