Bulldogs sweep Bears

SANDPOINT — Senior Kayla Neumann continues to swing away in the attack, posting a double-double with 13 kills and 20 digs, leading the Bulldogs to a 25-15, 25-23, 25-16 straight set sweep of the Bears in 4A Inland Empire League volleyball action Tuesday night at Les Rogers Court.

The Bulldogs (13-6, 2-0 4A IEL) were firing on all cylinders, as setter Laney Search directed the attack with eight kills, 14 assists and 14 digs, while Shelby Kluver added 10 digs and four aces, Cheyenne Nicholson four aces, McCalee Cain 14 set assists and Grace Kircher five kills in a strong team effort.

The last time the two teams played Moscow knocked the Bulldogs out of state, so it was a nice win for the Bulldogs to gain the edge in the right to host districts.

“All 11 varsity members saw playing time and contributed. Grace Hicks sprained her ankle during warm ups, so McCalee Cain and Marina Breuner stepped in to defend the right side,” described Bulldogs head coach Erin Roos. “Lilly Anderson got her feet wet in the varsity pool and had some steady serve-receive and defense. Strong attacking from our outsides, Neumann and Kluver, and middle Grace Kirscher.”

Sandpoint hosts Post Falls on Thursday.
