This is an open letter to Mr. Woodward and the school board:

After reading the Sept. 15 article in the Daily Bee about the Lake Pend Oreille School District considering a way forward after the defeated levy, it appears the you are engaged in rearranging the furniture. Or same song, second verse.

There are other issues than just the levy’s size and the Lake Pend Oreille alternative high school.Your first response seems to repeat the outsider theme, this time a consultant instead of an Boise attorney to tell you how to best get feedback from the public. Let me save you some money.

First, to get more than 10 people at forums, have them at 6 p.m., preferably on a Friday. Most of us are working at 1 p.m. on a weekday. At $150 grand, Mr. Woodward, you should be smart enough to send out a mailer to all postal patrons soliciting ideas. And when you get them back, listen to what they say. One question you ask: If not now, when? Well, never, if you insist on satisfying your champagne appetite on our beer income.
