SANDPOINT — The Bulldogs came from behind to win every set, mixing some scrappy defense with precise hitting to earn a 25-23, 25-20, 25-20 sweep of Post Falls in nonleague volleyball action Thursday night at Les Rogers Court.

With starter Grace Hicks out with a sprained ankle, the Bulldogs (14-6) got big contributions from bench players Lilly Anderson, who made several great digs, and Marina Breuner, who had three blocks.

The offense was in a nice rhythm, with Alexis Davis and Grace Kirscher both getting some strong swings in the middle, as Laney Search fed a host of hitters as defenses continue to key on Kayla Neumann. Sandpoint stats were unavailable at press time.

“It feels good to beat a 5A in three. With Grace out for a couple of weeks, you never know how that will affect chemistry,” said Bulldogs head coach Erin Roos. “They kept their composure, and even when they were down, they didn’t panic. I think it will pay off down the road, having that confidence we can come back, we’ve done it in the past.”

Allison Munday hammered 11 kills to lead the Trojans (12-7), who built sizable leads in the first two sets but were unable to close anything out. Kalli Minden added 13 digs, Kayla Mayo and Courtney Finney 10 set assists, and Cassidy Jackson three blocks in defeat.

Sandpoint is at Post Falls on Tuesday.
