What is going on with the city of Sandpoint’s politicos? $80,000 for a strategic plan for City Beach hiring a consultant?
A few years ago I offered to supply the city of Sandpoint a new scoreboard with a full color replay and message board for Memorial Field absolutely free and was turned down by Kim Woodruff, director of Parks and Recreation, because I wanted to have two advertising panels on top of the scoreboard/message board and two advertising panels on the bottom of the structure. I would sell the advertising to national firms to offset the cost of the scoreboard and color videoboard.
Once the cost of the scoreboard and message board cost were paid in full by the sale of advertising the scoreboard and color video message board would become the property of the city of Sandpoint. The design of the new scoreboard and message board would also allow the full color message board to be easily removed and easily installed at the Festival stage area so everyone could see the performers on a color message board as is done at most concerts. However Woodruff turned my offer down saying, he did not want any advertising on the scoreboard. Now with regards to City Beach, Mr. Woodruff states, “now he does not want City Beach inundated with advertisements or concessionaire’s or things like that.”
Where does he think all of this money for these things is coming from, is it going to just drop out of the sky?
