Lorraine Jane Ezzell, 86, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016. at Pinecrest Cemetery.
Lorraine was born on April 10, 1930. in Placerville, Calif., to Claude and Nelle Lewis. She grew up and attended schools in Placerville, graduating from El Dorado County High School in 1948. She went on to receive a degree from Mount Zion Hospital School of Nursing in San Francisco in 1950.
Lorraine married Vernon H. Ezzell on Nov. 18, 1950. She worked as a nurse in hospitals and doctor offices in California. In the 1970s, she worked in Fallon, Nev. She moved to Sandpoint and worked at Mountainside Care Center and Life Care of Sandpoint, retiring in 2003.
She belonged to The Grand Cross of Color, and was installed in the Order of the Rainbow Girls in 1949. She traveled to China with her son Hugh and rode the Grand Canyon with her daughter Yvonne.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Kiebert of Sand-point; three sons, Stan Ezzell of Twin Falls, Idaho, Claude (Susan) Ezzell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Hugh (Lileth) Ezzell of Reno, Nev.; eight grandchildren, John, Steve, Phoenix, Allie, Chloe, Ashley, Courtenay, and Amber; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sylvia Barnish of Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vernon, and two sisters, Elizabeth Ricther and Shirley Jennings.
