NAPA Auto Parts fetes grand re-opening
SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce recently helped NAPA Auto Parts celebrate its grand re-opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The store, 514 Larch St., underwent an extensive remodel that began in February.
When Wayne and Alta Townsend purchased NAPA Auto Parts in the early 1980s, the store was located on Oak Street. They built and moved the store to its current location in 1990. Since then, the business has been the go-to place in the community for everything from dress-up items for the interior and exterior of your vehicle to parts for small engine, ATV, boat, snowmobile, lawn mower, tractor and more.
Townsend’s daughter, Susan, and her husband, Andrew Fingel, moved from Seattle to purchase the store in 1996. They have since expanded into the remaining 3,000 square-feet of the Sandpoint location as well as adding locations in Priest River and Newport.
As a full-service, independently owned auto parts store affiliated with NAPA (National Automotive Parts Association), they are a part of the oldest and leading automotive parts distributor in the country. Fingel defines the full-service as doing everything possible to stock, find, and obtain parts, accessories, equipment, tools, and appearance products to get vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, tractors, and lawn mowers running and looking great. They supply all of the above to both Do-It-For-Me (DIFM) automotive technician customers and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) retail customer. In addition to a large inventory carried in their stores, they have access to the NAPA Distribution Center in Spokane for same day delivery or free next day delivery.
Combined, their staff has over 150 years of experience with not only knowledge but superior customer service as well. It’s the “NAPA know how.”
“We are thankful to be in this community. Susan and I try each and every day to run this business in a way that blesses others — from employees, to customers, to the community as a whole. Our investment in this remodel is something that we really hope reaps rewards for our entire community over the years,” said Andrew Fingel.
