A con con is a constitutional convention of the states to change or amend the Constitution. Some would say a con con is the only solution to rein in the government, the end all be all of restoring America to what it once was.

Our Founding Fathers framed the constitution to such a degree that almost every modern day issue we have is clearly expressed, the only thing that has changed is technology. For example, say a convention was convened for the sole purpose of creating a balanced budget amendment. Taxpayer funds would be spent just to send delegates to hash out the same rhetoric that Congress is currently engaged in. It would take less time for Congress to vote to balance the budget with a simple majority. As stated in the Constitution, Congress has the power of the purse, so why is a con con even a question? We shouldn’t be asking whether the Constitution is flawed, we should be holding Congress accountable for not doing their job. If Congress isn’t following the Constitution what is putting another law on the books going to change.

“We, the people,” are not holding our representatives accountable. In the Preamble it states … “We, the people, in order to form a more perfect union …” The Founders knew that “we, the people,” are the key to the whole design. When the people are taken out of the equation we end up where we are today.
