NEWS BULLETIN 64
The News-Bulletin served Sandpoint and its trade area for 63 years. It was that long ago that a far sighted pioneer publisher took a look at a small village and guessed rightly as to its future.
When a newspaper starts its 64th year, it is also indicated that the people of the area have had faith in it over long years and still have faith. The News-Bulletin has the largest circulation of any weekly in this big state.

Pend d’Oreille Review
Sept. 29, 1916 – ODEN NEWS
Some of our good people are endeavoring to get an extension of R.F.D. No. 1. Let us all bear in mind that we can all enjoy the U.S. mail service if only we lend a hand and help the good work along. Picture yourself enjoying the world’s news at your fireside this winter without going farther than your mail box at the gate to get the paper. Be progressive, and boost for a good enterprise which will benefit you and your neighbor as well.

INTEREST IN FOOTBALL REVIVING
The high school football squad has completed the first week of practice and all indications point to an enthusiastic and capable team. The boys have decided to use a plot of vacant land just north of the Thomason Bros. powder house east of the Northern Pacific track as their field, which is within five minutes’ walk of the school.
The work of getting the boys in physical trim is progressing nicely and Coaches Gaines and Strong are using a goodly supply of liniment and a number of electrical appliances to keep the squad free from bruises and sore muscles.
Those turning out for practice the first week were: O’Leary, Murray, Mountjoy, Farmin, Moon, Weaver, Kircheck, Prentice, Ewing, VanCurler, Johnson, Thompson, Nelson, Danielson, Curran, Senft, Clinton, Bates, Derr, Rowlands, Dubois, Ramsey, Vaughn, Page, Woodard and Prichard.
