Neva Kathryn Ridley, 94

Neva Kathryn Ridley, 94, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Laclede, Idaho.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2017, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Dale Coffelt will be officiating, with burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Neva was born in Braymer, Missouri, on Jan. 23, 1923, the daughter of Earl and Edith Whitney. The family moved to the Sandpoint, Idaho, area in 1929 and she attended schools in Algoma and Sagle prior to graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1940. Following high school, she had worked in sawmills, for Kaiser Shipyards and was the head cashier for a theater. She would work for Bell Telephone for 42 years as a secretary, retiring in 1973.

Neva reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Leslie Ridley, in her later years and they were married Oct. 3, 1993, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He would precede her in death and be buried in Salt Lake.

Neva would retire in Laclede, Idaho and continue to take care of the family place. She enjoyed North Idaho, her family and her friends.

She is survived by her special friends, Norman and Sherylee Foster in Laclede; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, John Henry Habemicht Jr.; and a former husband, Wilbert Howell.
