Laughing Dog celebrates new taproom
(Photo by CAROLINE LOBSINGER) Fred Colby helps customers packed into Laughing Dog Brewing’s new taproom in Ponderay. The local craft beer company’s grand opening of its new taproom, 805 Schweitzer Plaza Drive, drew a packed crowd throughout the Saturday event.
PONDERAY — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce helped Laughing Dog Brewing celebrated the opening of their new taproom with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, March 31. A grand opening celebration followed on Saturday and drew a packed house throughout the 7-hour event.
Laughing Dog Brewing opened in 2005 and has been in Ponderay ever since. Fred and Michelle Colby started the brewery and named it after their dog, Bennie. Now Laughing Dog distributes craft beer nationwide, and with their growth, has moved into a new 16,000-square-foot production facility with an accompanying taproom for both locals and tourists to enjoy craft beer, sports and great company.
As part of Idaho Craft Beer month they will have commemorative beer month glasses and will showcase their new “Dogs of Helles,” American Amber, and “Bock at the Moon” brews.
