Marty Stitsel’s letter (March 23, 2017, Daily Bee) stated it was time to put on some rose-colored glasses and see how good the world truly is thanks to Obama’s time in office. The problem is any time you filter your view of the world, through rose-colored glasses or a blindfold, you obscure the truth.

The truth is that we have $19 trillion in debt. The truth is mandating “universal healthcare” is outside the Constitutional limits of the federal government, as was taxpayer funded bailouts of the auto industry. The truth is that 3,000 unborn children are murdered every day by abortion. The truth is that the Constitution’s restrictions on government are being ignored to the detriment of every American’s freedom.

It’s all a matter of perspective. It is true that things in America are better than nearly anywhere else in the world. However, that doesn’t mean things are perfect. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance. Unless it is fought for on a daily basis, freedom will slip away.

This is not a Republican or Democrat problem. This is a leadership problem. But there’s a silver lining. Patriot Academy is an organization that is training young leaders, who understand Constitution and love freedom, to stand on principles to defend the blessings of liberty that we enjoy everyday.

I encourage you to check it out and get involved at PatriotAcademy.com.
