Pastor Andy Kennaly invites the community to participate in a Maundy Thursday service on April 13. The evening begins with a soup dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by the service in the century-old sanctuary at 6:30 p.m.
Maundy Thursday, also called Holy Thursday, remembers Jesus and his disciples meeting in the upper room for Passover supper. Maundy comes from a Latin word that reminds us of Jesus’ new commandment given at this supper: “As I loved you, love one another.”
Communion is celebrated around a meal in the fellowship hall, followed by a solemn worshihp service in the sanctuary in which all worship symbols are removed.
