Holy Week and Easter events abound at First Luthern Church. The congregation invites all community members to join them at any or all of the events.

Event include:

- Sunday, April 9

Palm/Passion Sunday — Dramatic reading of the “Passion” according to Matthew. For the 8:15 a.m. service, meet near the church (inside) mailboxes prior to worship. For the 10 a.m. worship, meet in the fellowship hall prior to worship for the procession of palms.

- Thursday, April 13

Maunday Thursday — 1 p.m. mid-day prayer and holy communion service; and 7 p.m., holy communion with the stripping of the altar … from this table, Jesus heads to the Garden of Gethsemane, arrest, trial and crucifixion observed on Friday.

- Friday, April 14

Good Friday — Stations of the cross. Come anytime between 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. to walk the way of Jesus through scripture, art, prayer stations, and individual reflection. Enter through Ontario Street doors. Signage and booklets will lead you from the narthex (space outside the sanctuary) into and through the stations placed around the worship space

- Sunday, April 16

Easter celebration; breakfast (potluck brunch) served 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.; Easter egg hunt, 9 a.m., gather in the fellowship hall for a story and instruction for the hunt; worship, 10 a.m.

The First Lutheran congregation cordially invites any and all interested worshipers to join them during this solemn but joyous time in their “faith walk with Jesus.”
