Mt. West fundraiser aids CF senior center

SANDPOINT — The employees at Mountain West Bank in Ponderay recently held a one-day bake sale to raise funds for the Clark Fork-Hope Area Senior Center.

Through the generosity of customers, employees and volunteers, $500 was raised and presented to representatives from the center.

“We know the services provided by the senior center are so important to the community, especially the home delivered meals," said Judy Baird, vice president and branch manager of Mountain West Bank. "The center is a place for people to socialize but for some who benefit from the home delivered meal, it’s more than just the meal.

"Their only interaction with another person that day, or perhaps even that week, may in fact be with the person who delivers the meal to them. We wanted to find a way to say thank you, and a bake sale seemed to be a great way to help out. Our customers love to see what we are up to in the branch and support our efforts. Besides, who doesn’t enjoy a freshly made pie, a loaf of bread, or a variety of yummy cookies?”
