Beverly Jean Fickle, 79, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Beverly was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Oct. 20, 1937, the daughter of Henry Melvin and Ella Marie Hansen. Bev was a very adventurous and fun-loving girl at a very young age, and continued to be throughout her life, with a wonderful sense of humor.

She loved camping, fishing, rodeos, bluegrass music, slot machines, and her many friends and family. She and her husband lived in Davenport, Wash., for many years.

She was a great cook, and she cooked in several restaurants. At one time she operated a food cart that she took to rodeos, etc. Later, they lived in the Seven Bays community on the river, until her husband passed away from cancer.

She moved back to Sagle, where she was caregiver for her aging mother and for a family friend, Phoebe Senft, before moving to Ponderay. She worked several years bartending at Hooties at the Elks. During this time, she enjoyed playing pinochle at the Sandpoint Senior Center.

Bev was a person who never had a bad word to say about anyone, but would speak her mind if she thought anyone was being treated unfairly. She will be missed by anyone who knew her.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fickle; her parents, Hank and Ella; a daughter, Betty Jean Kronis; two brothers, Stephen and Richard; and her sister, Marlene Taylor.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Salinda Sims and Luther Kuller, who live in Alaska; four siblings, Emma Lou Craig (Rich) of Prineville, Ore., Ella Mae Coop of Ponderay, Melvin Hansen (Jan) of Sandpoint, and Linda LaFore (Bob) of Sandpoint; her best friend, Jim Hall; brother-in-law, Ed Taylor; sister-in-law, Shirley Hansen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; including two special angel nieces, Lou Ella Moran and Wendy Sater-Franck, who helped care for her during her final days and prior.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Bev’s online memorial atlakeviewfuneral.com and sign her guest book.
